A MUST READ "Double Trouble"

#Incase you missed the last episode, read it up (here)

"Driver second Bus Stop dey o" I shouted  to draw the attention of the  old man driving. He stopped and I alighted from the last seat where I sat. I made my payment with him and waited for my #50 balance. It took him like ages to find #50 in his pocket while I waited with puzzled looks on my face. He searched his breast pocket bringing out bunch of squeezed Naira notes to check for 'change' there and couldn't find any. He adjusted his bottom to search in his back pocket, struggling with his fat belly and the steering and brought nothing out. He then called out to the passengers in the vehicle for help "please is anyone paying with #50 here?” The young man seated next to me from the back seat while I was in the bus then asked, "How much is he paying?" and the driver replied, "#50". "Ok" said the young man as he deepened his hand in his pocket and handed #50 note to the driver. I collected my balance from the old man and left towards the direction leading to my street. I walked across the road with my tired looking bones towards the street. The sky wasn't looking friendly at all and it was certain that it would rain in the next couple of minutes. The wind was howling slowly and few drops of rain here and there, though it hasn't taken a formal shape that could deter people from their normal day activities.

I got to our gate and finally into my room and wow, she had kept the room real clean with nice smell of an airfreshner flavour I've never known before. She lay on the bed horizontally using the pillow to support her head, watching the television. My stripe brown polo looked really nice on her, though, it was too big on her small body. She wore small shots that just covered her butts a little with the polo, thereby exposing her spotless chocolate laps. She smiled at me as I entered. "See his face" she said, "why are you squeezing it like that?" she asked. I kept mute, dropped my small bag on the wardrobe and started to undress. "Where did you get the airfreshner from?" I asked. She kept quiet and pretended she didn't hear me. I ignored that as I was still undressing to change clothes. I removed my shoes and kept it on the wardrobe with my stockings in it. "Oh my God!" she exclaimed. She jumped from the bed at once, rushed and collected my shoes from the wardrobe and took it outside the room, just by the door side, while I watched with a very confused state of mind. I thought about many things within that second. Could it be a scene from the movie she was seeing on the TV that made her shout or what? I was staring at her, speechless.  "Baby, don't make me believe you are this dirty! Gush! Look how your shoes smell and you couldn't even keep it outside but...." "But what?!" I interrupted "what do you mean?!. That I can't keep my shoes where I want or what?" "It's not that, just that i..." she said calmly. "Oh please!" I interrupted again, "Bring it back inside please. Make rain no touch that shoes abeg" I pleaded as I went to get the shoes back inside. I dashed out of the door, collected the shoes and at a second thought, I had to tell myself the truth for God's sake. I knew the shoes smelt real bad. But why couldn't I allow my unnecessary ego to accept that fact at first? Well, I didn't want to make her feel she was right anyway. I have to be the man always as I have ever wanted. I kept the shoes outside still but at a corner where rain would not get it. Opening the curtains as I got back inside the room, I gave her a smile and said, "You were right shaa" giving her a wink and a broader smile. She kept mute and maintained a stern face. "Sorry naa" I repeated. "No, you were right. One thing with you is that you always think that you have it all" she said and adjusted her pillow and resumed her movie.

Pamela is one girl that I can't explain the kind of bond that holds us together. Ever since her arrival to Enugu around 5: pm a day before, she has been all nice to me though on my own, I didn't have a true peace of mind. I couldn't figure out if it was because I was actually cheating on Jenny with her, or, because it was for the fact that she was a girl I met online on Facebook and we have only seen once when she came to see her father at the army barracks. On other side of my fear, she has told me quite a lot about her father online, even before we met. How a military man that he is both at home and in field. From all she told me then, I also figured out how fondly the Dad is with her. We met in real life after about a year of our active chats as friends on Facebook when she visited Enugu from Lagos for a wedding and also to see her Dad at 82 Div. Barracks. She has told me a lot about her background, even her origin. She is from Rivers state but her mother is from Nkanu west in Enugu state. She expressed her worst fear to be her Dad when he is angry and also her best friend when he is happy. Hardly does she discuss at full length with you without the mention of "My Dad this, my Dad that" but seldom talks about her mother that much. Rather she talks about one Aunty Chika whom she said is her mother’s youngest sister that stays at New heaven, a town inside Enugu metropolis. In all, Pamela is a girlfriend any guy would like to have. Nice hips, sexy lips, chocolate skin and a very sweet and tender tone that she's got whenever she talks, But, she's a very short girl. She talks a lot and plays a lot too. Laughs at jokes and most of all very lively and fun to be with.

I lay with her on the bed trying to make up for the voice I raised on her earlier. I drew myself closer to her using the second pillow to place on her belly as I tried leaning my back on that. She adjusted herself, shifted a little bit making the pillow to fall from her belly to the bed. I took the pillow again and placed it on her belly once more and she took it down again. We were both conscious of this speechless-drama and I know she liked it. "Stop joor" she said and broke the silent drama, trying to hide a smile. I continued placing the pillow on her, struggling with that until I overpowered her as she was now laughing heartily and very loud as we were on that. She eventually gave up and relaxed while I got comfortable on her with the pillow. "So, where did you get the airfreshner from?" I asked resting my head on the pillow I had placed on her. She kept quite as though she didn't hear me at first for a while and replied "I bought it". She paused a bit and continued with a more mild tone "Alex, I don't have to be on house arrest simply because I visited you. What will happen if the so called landlord saw me? Am I doing a wrong thing or do you have anything to hide? Why hiding me? Are you not proud of me?" she asked and continues "Eh? Alex...answer me. Are you not proud of me or do you have..." "It's not even that" I replied interrupting her gently. "I just don't want him to think that I'm..." "Forget that thing abeg!" she interrupted. "You are an adult for crying out loud. "Y-e-s!" she stressed beating her chest, "I went outside and bought the airfreshner and also indomie noodles that I cooked". "Hmm!" I said raising my head a bit to look at her face, "Did you get it from the Landlord’s shop? He saw you?" I asked inquisitively, "No, I went to that junction where you picked me yesterday when I came" I heaved a sigh of relief and rested my head back on her and said, "Better. Because I just don't want that man's wahala at all". .........
